RUTA DE SAN PABLO IV

Llegada a Estambul

Llegada a Estambul. Traslado al hotel previsto y alojamiento.

Estambul

Desayuno. Excursión de día completo por la ciudad. Por la mañana realizaremos la visita a la Santa Sophia, monumento más identificativo de Estambul, una de las maravillas arquitectónicas más hermosas y además de ser una de las iglesias más grandes del mundo. A continuación visitaremos el Palacio Topkapi donde vivieron los sultanes entre 1478 y 1856. Topkapi no es una estructura única, sino un complejo monumental orgánico formado por diversos quioscos, jardines y zonas repartidas en la barriada del casco histórico de Estambul en la entrada del Cuerno de Oro. Seguimos para la Mezquita Azul admirada por sus seis altos minaretes y cúpulas con terrazas que se alzan en el centro del edificio; comprobarás que el arquitecto consiguió su objetivo con la perfección de esta impresionante obra.. Por la tarde visitaremos el Hipódromo Romano (época de Séptimo Severo), lugar donde las carreras de cuádrigas y los circos sirvieron de diversión en los habitantes de de Constantinopla durante más de mil años. Finalizaremos el día en el mercado cubierto El Gran Bazar donde disfrutarán de tiempo libre. Traslado al hotel y alojamiento.

Estambul - Adana - Iarso - Capadocia (230km) Vuelo doméstico

Desayuno. DESPUES VOLAMOS HACİA ADANA. LLegamos y salida hacia Tarso, ciudad donde nació San Pablo. Visitaremos la Iglesia de San Pablo y el Poso de San Pablo. Seguiremos hacia Capadocia, tierra de las Chimeneas de las hadas. Llegada a Capadocia, traslado al hotel, Cena y alojamiento.

Capadocia 

Tras el desayuno excursión de día completo. Visitamos el Museo al Aire Libre de Göreme donde contemplaremos algunas iglesias construidas en las rocas, que ofrecen frescos interiores. Seguiremos con la visita a un pueblo troglodita de Uçhisar. Continuacion al Valle de Los Palomares. Pasaremos por Pasabag (Valle de los Monjes) que también se le conoce por Las Chimeneas de las Hadas en forma de hongo. Seguiremos con el pueblo de alfareros Avanos. Por la tarde visitaremos una ciudad subterránea: Serhatlı (o Özkonak), impresionante por sus varios niveles de profundidad, la misma fue utilizada por los primeros cristianos como refugio contra los enemigos durante los siglos VI y VII. Por ultimo visita un taller de alfombras para apreciar como se tejen las alfombras turcas conocidas en el mundo, un taller de onix y joyeria.

Regreso al hotel, Cena y alojamiento.

Capadocia - Konya - Yalvac - Antalya (600km)

Desayuno. Salida hacia Konya (iconium) Capital del Gran imperio Selyucida. Esta ciudad poseía una población considerable con una importante comunidad judia; visitada por San Pablo y San Bernabé en su primer viaje misionero. Continuamos hacia Antioquia de Psidia (Yalvac) donde diera Pablo su primer sermón conocido en la Sinagoga de Antioquía un día de shabbat. Cena y alojamiento.

Antalya - Perge - Aspendos - Antalya (80km)

Salida hacia Perge. Perge una de las ciudades romanas más importantes de la costa mediterránea de Asia Menor, fue el primer lugar donde Pablo puso el pie, junto a Bernabé y Marcos (el Evangelista). visitaremos Aspendos, el Teatro Greco-Romano, uno de los mejores teatros conservados del mundo antiguo romano. Continuando por el Museo Arqueológico de Antalya Cena y Alojamiento.

Antalya - Pamukkale (300km)

Desayuno. Pamukkale, montaña cubierta por blancos depósitos calcáreos que forman piscinas semicirculares ofrecen su paisaje único denominado Castillo de Algodón. La ciudad antigua de Hierápolis; necrópolis más grande de Anatolia y el Matrium de San Felipe donde fuera martirizado durante las persecuciones ordenadas por Domiciano acompañan el paso de esta visita.

Pamukkale - Laodicea - Mileto - Kusadai  (190km)

Desayuno y salida para la antigua ciudad de Laodicea, ciudad donde se ubicará una de las siete iglesias de la Apocalypsis; visitaremos Las Ruinas Romanas. Almuerzo. Tras el almuerzo; continuaremos hacia Mileto sitio reconocido en la antiguedad como La Escuela de la Filosofía y donde viviera el gran filóso Thales. Tambien fuérase lugar donde San Pablo pronunciara su discurso de despedida a los Efesos. Llegada a Kusadasi. Cena y alojamiento.

Kusadai - Efeso - Esmirna (80km)

Desayuno. Salida hacia Efeso, ciudad antigua mejor conservada de Asia Menor, que durante los siglos I y II tuvo una población de 250.000 habitantes y monopolizó las riquezas del Medio Oriente. Visitaremos el Templo de Artemisa, una de las Siete Maravillas del mundo antiguo, el Templo Adriano, Los Baños Romanos, la Biblioteca de Celso cuya fachada se encuentra en pie y el Odeón, impresionante teatro que tenía capacidad para 24.500 espectadores. En Efeso también visitaremos La Iglesia de La Virgen Maria donde realizó el Tercer Consilio Ecuménico en el año 431. Almuerzo.Visita a la Casa de la Virgen María, supuesta última morada de la Madre de Jesús. Traslado a Esmirna, hotel, Cena y alojamiento.

Esmirna – Pergamo - Asos (O Edremit) (340km

Desayuno. Salida hacia Pergamo, una de las ciudades más ricas de la antigua provincia romana de Asia y lugar donde surgió por primera el pergamino, a su vez; una de Las Siete Iglesias de La Apocalipsis. Las ruinas de la Acrópolis se encuentran en lo alto de una montaña que está en el centro de la actual ciudad de Bergama. En la Acrápolis, visitaremos el teatro más empinado del mundo, el templo de Trajano,el templo de Atenea y el Altar de Zeus. Almuerzo.Continuaremos hacia La Basílica Roja, templo para los dioses Egipcios; posteriormente convertido en basílica por los bizantinos. Galeno, el más célebre médico de la Antigüedad nació en Pérgamo; visitaremos Las ruínas de su hospital el Asclepion y seguiremos hacia Asos (o Edremit). Llegada al hotel, Cena y alojamiento.

Asos (O Edremit) - Alexandra Troas - Troya - Estambul

Desayuno. Salida hacia Alexandria Troas (Alejandría de Tróade) donde San Pablo pasó varios meses durante su segundo viaje, siendo aquí donde tuviera el sueño que lo impulsara a pasar a Macedonia e iniciar la Primera Predicación del Cristianismo en tierras europeas.Después de la visita de Alexandria Troas seguiremos hacia Troya, la conocida y antigua ciudad en La 'liada de Homero y La Guerra de Troya. Resume esta visita El Caballo de Troya junto a su historia. Continuaamos hacia Estambul. Llegada a la ciudad, traslado al hotel, cena y alojamiento.

Arrival in Instanbul

Arrival in Istanbul. Transfer to hotel for lodging.

Instanbul

Breakfast. Full day excursion of the city. In the morning we visit Hagia Sophia, the monument most identified with Istanbul; one of the most beautiful and marvelous works of architecture besides being one of the grandest church buildings in the world. We will visit the Topkapi Palace where the sultans lived between 1478 and 1856. Topkapi is not a lone structure, but a complex organic monumental formed for diverse kiosks, gardens and zones distributed in the historical slums of the helmet of Istanbul at the entrance of the Golden Horn. We continue to the Blue Mosque admired for its six tall minarets and cupolas with terraces that rise in the center of the building; you will see how the architect achieves his objective with the perfection of this impressive work. In the afternoon we visit the Roman Hippodrome (time of Septimus Severus), the place where chariot races and circuses served as amusement for the population of Constantinople for more than a thousand years. We end the day in the covered market of The Grand Bazaar where you will enjoy free time. Transport to the hotel for lodging.

Instanbul - Adana - Iarso - Capadocia (143 Miles) Domestic Flight

Breakfast. AFTER BREAKFAST WE FLY TO ADANA. We arrive then leave for Tarsus, the city where the Apostle Paul was born. We will visit the Church of St. Paul and the Well of St. Paul. We continue toward Cappadocia; land of the fairy chimneys. Arrival in Cappadocia and transported to the hotel for dinner and lodging.

Cappadocia

After breakfast we have a full day excursion. We go to the Open Air Museum of Göreme where we will see churches cut from rock that offer views of interior frescos. We continue with a visit to the troglodyte city of Uchisar. We continue to the Valley of the Doves/Pigeons and pass by Pasabag (Valley of the Monks) that is also known for the fairy chimneys in the form of mushrooms. We continue to the potters of Avanos. In the afternoon we will visit a subterranean city: Sherhatli (or Ozkonak), impressive for its many levels of depth, of which were used by early Christians as refuge from enemies in the 6th and 7th centuries. Our day ends with a visit to a rug workshop to appreciate how Turkish rugs, (known worldwide) are woven. Included is a workshop of onyx and jewelry. We return to the hotel for dinner and lodging.

Cappadocia - Konya - Yalvac - Antalya (373 Miles)

Breakfast: We leave for Konya (Iconium), Capital of the Grand Seleucid Empire. The city had a considerable population and was considered an important Jewish community; visited by Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey. We continue toward Antioch of Pisidia (Yalvac) where Paul gave his first known sermon in the synagogue of Antioch on the Sabbath. Dinner and lodging.

Antalya - Perge - Aspendos - Antalya (50 Miles)

Leave for Perge; one of the most important Roman cities on the Mediterranean cost of Asia Minor. It was the first place were Paul set foot, with Barnabas and Mark (gospel author) upon arriving in Asia Minor. We will visit Aspendos, the Greco-Roman theater, one of the better preserved theaters of the ancient Roman world. Continuing, we go to the Architectural Museum of Antalya, then dinner and lodging.

Antalya - Pamukkale (186 Miles)

Breakfast: Pamukkale, see the mountain covered with white deposits of calcium that form semicircular pools on what is called the Castle of Cotton. The ancient city of Hieropolis with its necropolis; the largest in Anatolia; vsiti the Matryium of St. Philip where he was martyred during the persecutions ordered by Domitian that accompany the steps of this visit.

Pamukkale - Laodicea - Miletus - Kusadasi (118 Miles)

Breakfast and journey toward the ancient city of Laodicea, one of the seven churches of Revelation was located here; we visit the Roman Ruins, the lunch. After lunch we continue toward Miletus, renowned for its ancient school of philosophy and where the grand philosopher Thales lived. We also visit the place where the Apostle Paul gave his farewell speech to the elders of the church at Ephesus. Arrive at Kusadasi for dinner and lodging.

Kusadasi - Ephesus - Smyrna (50 Miles)

Breakfast. We travel to Ephesus, the best preserved ancient city of Asia Minor. During the first and second centuries, Ephesus had a population of 250,000 and monopolized the riches of the Mid East. We will visit the Temple of Artemis, onf of the Seven Marvels of the ancient world; the Temple of Hadrian, the Roman Baths, the facade of the Celso Library on foot and the Odeon, an impressive theater with a seating capacity of 24,500. In Ephesus we will also visit the Church of the Virgin Mary where the Third Ecumenical Counsel took place in the year 431. After lunch we visit the House of the Virgin Mary where supposedly, the last dwelling place of the mother of Jesus. Transport to Smyrna for dinner and lodging.

Smyrna - Pergamum - Asos (O Edremit) (211 Miles)

Breakfast. We leave for Pergamum, one of the richest cities of the ancient Roman province of Asia, the place where medical surgery was first performed and was the location of one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. We will encounter the ruins of the Acropolis that are at the highest point in the center of the city now called Bergama. At the Acropolis we visit the steepest theater in the world, the temple of Trajan, the temple of Athena and the Altar of Zeus. After lunch we continue the journey toward the Red Basilica, a temple for the Egyptian gods later converted to a basilica by the Byzantines. Galeno, the most celebrated physician of antiquity was born in Pergamum. We visit the ruins of the Asclepion Hospital and continue toward Assos (or Edremit). Arrive at hotel for dinner and lodging.

Asos (O Edremit) - Alexandra Troas - Troy - Istanbul

Breakfast;. We journey toward Alexandria Troas (Alejandra de Tróade) where the Apostle Paul stayed several months during his second missionary journey. It was here he had the dream that called him to Macedonia where he preached the first Christian sermon on European soil. After the visit to Alexandrai Troas we continue toward Troy; the ancient city best knows “The Iliad” by Homer “The Trojan War.” We will visit the Trojan Horse and learn of its history. We continue toward Istanbul. Arrival in the city and transport to our hotel for dinner and lodging.
